It’s not done, the painting that is, I popped in the highlight too light, so I’ll tone it down, but I can’t paint over white oil paint until it dries completely. I haven’t used oils in a long time and realized I had started to make ‘mud’ in the cats fur from over applying and over painting – newbie mistake that I knew better.
I’ll let it dry for two weeks and until then I have a lot of other projects and some things coming up on the board. I’m going to the big city to assist a class (i.e. I’m cleaning and passing out items at an art class) but it’s a start. In November there is a show. I have a lot to do, I’m unfocused today and not getting anything done.
Fall is here on the coast but it’s still hot inland, Portland.
Ian leaves out today and I’m super nervous. I keep wanting to eat a bunch of soothing carbs but it will just make me stupid and anxious.

I had blood work this week to attempt to identify what kind of arthritis I have.
Does everyone just get this? Is this normal aging?
Nobody seems to make much of it, but my fingers are rapidly changing shape and it feels like bee stings. Ibuprofen has given me an ulcer now. Idk…feels kinda like it’s serious.
I’m going back to a low-carb diet, but it’s difficult. Sugar is very addictive and my brain forgets why I’m avoiding sugar and carbs and just goes, “you know, you should have some gummy bears!” I say no and it goes, “oh, how about ice cream with instant coffee sprinkled on top…you have some vanilla in the freezer…” SOLD!
I had a skunk spray my window this week, really unloaded, must have been my fan or curtain that scared it. It did an admirable job. So I decided I needed to paint skunks. I’ll start that today.
