Armed with laxatives and stool softeners, I fasted for three days<\/strong>, expecting the bloat to vanish. Nope. Barely dropped a pound, and now I\u2019m back to 195\u2014or more\u2014thanks to fluid that won\u2019t quit. I felt like Violet Beauregarde, minus the gum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wednesday brought answers: an X-ray revealed an 11mm kidney stone jamming the tube to my bladder. Online forums screamed \u201cemergency!\u201d My doctor seemed worried, but the urologist? She shrugged it off. No CT scan ordered, no urgency, just me chasing voicemails as offices closed Friday. I\u2019m not convinced it\u2019s just a stone\u2014something feels off. We\u2019ll see.Then, the pharmacy didn\u2019t have my meds. My doctor snapped, \u201cWe don\u2019t do narcotics!\u201d Relax, I\u2019m not chasing a high\u2014I\u2019ve got a boulder in my kidney. Thankfully, a Costco pharmacist stepped up and got it done.
