Today I’m not feeling good, I’m dizzy, tired, and nauseated. But yesterday was kinda okay. If the sun comes out I’ll feel better. I like sunny days. I sit outside on my mat with my shoes off and meditate and gently stretch. It’s good for my brain.
I am suffering with POTS and Ehlers-Danlos – but I didn’t know either caused the digestion issues for which I’ve read diet book after diet book after diet book and watched the gurus on Youtube from 2015 onwards. With my intestines having been moved around, my gallbladder not working well and irregular eating – I’m not doing so hot. I think I can do the following meals…
- Breakfast salad
- Bean and rice burrito, just one
- 4-6 chicken nuggets with green beans
Despite really wanting the Dr. McDougall diet to work for me it just isn’t. Sorry Dr. McDougall, I love your passion but eating those carbs makes me so ill. I had oatmeal this morning which I think is why I haven’t been able to do anything. I feel terrible.

The surgery was so difficult.
I had my stitches checked by my primary doctor yesterday who says they are healing nicely.
It’s going to be a long road still I guess. I wish it had fixed the POTS / hEDS issue somehow too – but maybe I’ll have a little more energy? I hope so. My brain all foggy I can’t paint and create. Yesterday I had a picture just come to me, and I recalled how that used to happen to me all the time and I would run after it like a kite string and create and create and no stress touched me as long as I painted, wrote and made wonderful things. That was my whole life really before I just got stuck in my chair consuming dumb media online – albeit I made a really thorough record of what was happening locally and nationally during a time of unprecedented historical transition and maybe that will be worth something someday.
I really thought – I have to write this down. I have to document it. Someday they will rewrite this history into a sound bite and all the nuance and insanity will be lost.
I’ve been watching the Tour de France.
I’m team Visma this year, bought the Jersey and everything, lol. I’m a silly old woman, I really am. Been an interesting year. Ben Healey has been absolutely brilliant. Tadej is riding well but he always rides well. Wish we could see more Wout van Aert at the front, he’s a great rider – has a good energy to him, well I like all of Visma of course but I think Wout is my favorite cyclist. Yesterdays route took on 3 mountains and 18,000 ft of vert. That’s absolutely crazy. I would have struggled to walk a mile of that route and they road 100 miles of it. Thankfully no bad crashes or accidents on the gnarly course. I wonder how they handle altitude?
Until next week…
