I have spent my week walking and I love it. I love going outside and adventuring. Sometimes I find things – found a JBL bluetooth speaker last week and an unopened liter of water. Today I found a really nice washed up piece of wood and a ribbon. π I also been collecting plant and animal species for my iNaturalist app and birds in Merlin as well as Pikmin and Pokemon Go. I spend about two hours a day walking slowly with sit down breaks in the park. I’m not very strong so I go slow. The person who schedules the surgeries is on vacation or is gone on leave and so the surgery is delayed.

CHAT GPT Says:
The ship you photographed is the USCGC Eagle (WIX-327), one of the most iconic vessels in the U.S. Coast Guard fleet.
Quick Facts about the USCGC Eagle:
Type: Barque-rigged tall ship (three-masted sailing ship with square sails on the fore and main masts).
Length: 295 feet (90 meters).
Built: Originally constructed in 1936 in Germany as the Horst Wessel; it was taken by the U.S. as a war reparation after WWII and commissioned into the Coast Guard in 1946.
Purpose: Training vessel for future Coast Guard officers from the Coast Guard Academy. Cadets and officer candidates train in navigation, seamanship, and teamwork aboard.
Homeport: New London, Connecticut.
Nickname: “America’s Tall Ship.”
Why It’s in Oregon:
Eagle often goes on summer training cruises, which sometimes include West Coast tours β a relatively rare but special event. If it’s sailing up the Columbia River toward Astoria or Portland, itβs very likely on a public relations or training voyage, and there might even be opportunities for public tours while it’s in port.
Me: That is so incredible. I hope I can get a family member to go with me tomorrow to Astoria to see if it’s at the pier or Martime Museum to get a better photo and a look!

It was a difficult week but rounded out okay and my garden and flowers look nice and I’ve enjoyed walking tremendously. It has given me a new lease on life. I think when I’m well it would be awesome to lead a class in Zumba or Aerobics or something.
I’ve been trying to transition to McDougall plant based as I am having a very difficult time digesting fats, but have had a little hypoglycemia with McDougall so am slowing down. Still though 90% there.
